| THE ARTIST |
Hi, my name is Becky, and I’m the face behind the camera! My art degree from Grand Valley is in Illustration, which offered great cross-training in painting, drawing, graphic design, and printmaking. I enjoy lots of mediums, but I always come back to the camera. There’s something about the honesty of a moment captured in a split-second… it offers an authenticity I can’t resist. My photographic work harkens back to the fine art training, layering the elements of design with the sparks of personalities. What fun!
I currently reside in Holland, Michigan, and when I’m not playing with my camera, I’m playing with my husband and five children, ages 9, 7, 5, 3, and 6 months. I count it a privilege to create images that go beyond the posed family photo and become family treasures. The icing on the cake is the fascinating people I’ve gotten to meet along the way!
| THE APPROACH |
The bee doesn’t tell the flower where to stand to reach the nectar it seeks; and neither does this photographer spend much time primping and posing her families. Why? Because what we’re shooting for (pun SO intended) is a natural approach to family photography that is not only family-friendly (read: this photographer has 5 little kids of her own and knows how NOT AWESOME the moods of toddlers can be when told to stay clean, stay quiet, and stay still for two hours) but ends up producing a collection of artistic, heirloom quality photographs that capture the unique personalities of your people in the most honest, genuine way possible. It’s pictures of your family as they are, with an artist’s eye. BeeTree Photography focuses on births, families and individual portrait sessions, and is not shooting weddings at this time.
